Posted by jstotts | Posted in General | Posted on 05-04-2009

The Can-Spam Act of 2003 was updated in 2008. There were several significant changes to the Act.

Here are some direct links for the Can-Spam Act.

While Wikipedia is not an offical authority it does contain a world of information and often simplifies the legal wording, as it does in the case of the Can-Spam Act.

Email Marketing

Posted by jstotts | Posted in General | Posted on 05-04-2009

It seems the latest marketing buzz is all about Email Marketing.

So, how is that working for you? Seriously.

There is rarely a day that goes by that we are not ask - “can you get us an email list”. That answer is pretty simple, in a word, NO.

Not to sound harsh but there is not a LEGAL manner to sell or rent anyone an actual email list.

Most often Email marketing assumes that the client (our customer) is given an actual email list. This is not the case - again legally.

However, consider email blasting. It has the same effect and it is totally legal.

Good marketing.
